    Dr. Elizabeth Shaw is board certified in otolaryngology, head and neck surgery, and treats all aspects of ear, nose, and throat problems, with particular interest in allergies and sinus disease, thyroid disease, and neck tumors. Dr. Shaw also has specialized training in minimally-invasive, endoscopic neck surgery and the treatment of endocrine diseases requiring surgeries.

    Individual attention to each patient is a hallmark of Dr. Shaw’s practice. “I have to measure my professional accomplishments by the impact I make on each patient one day at a time. This is where I get my greatest satisfaction and why I do what I do. It’s the difference you make in curing a patient you are face to face with in the office. That’s what makes me look forward to coming to work everyday, and how I have grown a successful ENT practice over the past 13 years.”

    Dr. Shaw holds her colleagues in high regard, and they share her values when it comes to patient care, saying “we pride ourselves on having staff that have positive attitudes, are professional, kind, and treat patients like you would want a member of your own family to be treated.”

    Dr. Shaw graduated from the University of Florida in Gainesville with a bachelor’s in microbiology. She pursued her medical degree at the University of Florida, and completed an internship in general surgery at the university as well. She completed her residency in otolaryngology – head and neck surgery at University of Florida’s Shands Hospital.

    She is a fellow of the Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery, fellow of the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy, and a member of the Georgia Society of Otolaryngology and the Atlanta Medical Association. Dr. Shaw is past president of and was an officer for four years of the Atlanta Metro Educational Society for Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery. She is Chief of Otolaryngology at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Atlanta and is on the hospital’s Ethics Review and Peer Review committees. She is a lecturer for Northside Hospital Speaker’s Bureau, and Children’s Hospital of Atlanta. Dr. Shaw is a supporter of St. Joseph’s Mercy Care Clinic and the Mercy Care Foundation.

    Dr. Shaw is an avid runner, competing in half marathons in her spare time. She also enjoys spending time with her family which includes her husband, a cardiac anesthesiologist, and their three children ages 5, 7, and 10, along with their crazy yellow Labrador retriever, two guinea pigs, and a fish. She, her husband, and children share a love of the outdoors, and hike, bike, or kayak as often as possible.

    Hailing from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Dr. Shaw and her husband chose to make Atlanta their home to be close to family, but still enjoy the change of seasons.
