Dr. Amin is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine in the Department of Medicine, Division of Cardiology, at the Zena and Michael A. Weiner Cardiovascular Institute of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. He cares for patients and provides cardiology services at Mount Sinai Union Square, the Mount Sinai Heart offices in midtown Manhattan and in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, and the Mount Sinai Doctors - West 14th Street practice. He also attends on the inpatient consult services at Mount Sinai Beth Israel. Dr. Amin was born in Merrick, New York and completed his undergraduate education at New York University. He attended Mount Sinai School of Medicine, where he graduated in 2012. He completed Internal Medicine Residency at New York University Langone Medical Center. He then completed his Cardiovascular Diseases Fellowship at Mount Sinai Beth Israel, where he served as Chief Cardiology Fellow. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Echocardiography, Nuclear Cardiology, and Vascular Imaging. Dr. Amin’s goal in clinical practice is to provide exceptional care both to patients with cardiovascular diseases and to healthy patients looking to prevent the onset of disease. He utilizes multimodality diagnostic testing to identify patients at highest risk and aims to implement early intervention with dietary and lifestyle counseling, along with medications as needed, to limit the prevalence and severity of heart disease. He is a born and raised New Yorker, though he uses every chance he can to travel across the country and around the world. He is a marathon runner and believes strongly in leading the same healthy lifestyle through diet and exercise that he promotes to his patients.
